Who are you and where are you based? 

We are based out of Toronto, Canada and proudly manufacture items locally and abroad. To learn more about our designer and ethos, please check out our About page. 

I’m a tradesperson, can I buy wholesale? 

We love to collaborate with designers, trades, and shops. If you are a design professional, please email hello@mahalavi.com and we will arrange a trade account for you. In some cases we may request further information, such as accreditation or business number.

Please note: wholesale orders are non-refundable and a minimum order quantity may apply.

What is your return policy?

Most orders non-refundable due to their handmade nature. Some exceptions might be made on a case-by-case basis, and for defective pieces. Items will only be accepted with previous correspondence. To learn more, please email us at hello@mahalavi.com.

Please note: no returns or exchanges are accepted for made-to-order or custom items. 

Why do I have to contact you to buy some items? 

Certain items are made-to-order, oversized, or require customization to complete an order. To ensure a seamless sales experience we ask customers to contact us.

What’s a living finish? 

A living finish on metal (we use bronze) is unlacquered so will oxidize with use and time. 

What materials do you manufacture in? 

All items are crafted in the finest, most durable materials possible. Our bronze pieces are unlacquered — they can be lacquered upon request — while our painted items have been powder coated, which is a durable and permanent way of creating coloured metal finishes.

How do I care for a living finish?

If you wish to bring your unlacquered pieces back to the finish you received them in, you may use a metal polish designed for your finish. Make sure to test all polishes in an inconspicuous spot and use polishes following manufacturers instructions. 

How should I clean my metal hardware?

To maintain finish, use a clean, soft, damp cloth regularly and sparingly use a good commercial polish to upkeep. Make sure to use only gentle cleaners on all hardware, including bronze and painted finishes. 

Why doesn’t my order look like the picture? 

Due to our use of living finishes and hand casting, items have a natural variation. Slight differences  in colour or finish are to be expected. Variations are not defects. If your item is defective or damaged in other ways, please contact us and we will try our best to help. 

Where do you ship? 

We ship domestically and internationally using FedEx, ICS Courier, and UPS. Please note the shipping costs are not included, and will vary depending on the size and weight of your purchase. If you would like to arrange alternative shipping please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you.
